Elena  Gabouri

   mezzo-soprano

Russian-born mezzo Elena Gabouri studied at the St Petersburg National conservatoire under Tamara Novichenko; at the Paris National conservatoire; then at the Cortot Paris School with Isabel Garcisanz, where she  won the Singing Prize Unanimous with Congratulations of Jury (Janine Reiss, Udo Reinemann); and with the mezzo soprano Magali Damonte.  Among her internationals prizes: First Prize at the 2005 Arles Singing Competition (opera), the Best Female Singer Prize (Grand Prix) at the 2004 Vivonne Singing Competition, 2^nd Prize and the Audience Prize at the 2004 Catalan Singing Competition...

  She has lived in Paris since 2001.

Seasons 2008/09 - at Wexford Festival (Ireland): Zia Principessa in Sister Angelica by Puccini and Bobylikha in Snegurochka (The Snow Maiden) by Rimsky- Korsakov; Madame de la Haltière"Cinderella" by Massenet  at Massy Opera ;Rossini Little Solemn Mass with La Maîtrise des Hauts-de-Seine; Pergolesi Stabat Mater at Marseille Opera; Mozart Requiem  at Massy Opera, Verdi Requiem  in Nantes conducted by Pierre-Michel Durand.; many recitals.

Seasons 2006/07/08: Marfa (The Rothschild’s Violin by Fleishmann) with The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra;  Siegrune (Wagner's Die Walküre) at Marseille Opera; Aksinia (Shostakovich's Lady Macbeth of Mzensk) at Geneva Opera ; Verci Requiem  in Paris with the Bel'Arte Orchestra, conducted by Francis Bardot; Rossini Stabat Mater at Marseille Opera;  Fenena (Verdi's Nabucco ) for the Paris Lyric Academy ; many recitals.

During 2004/05/06 seasons, Elena Gabouri was The Mother, The Dragonfly and The Chinese Cup (Ravel's L'Enfant et les Sortilèges) for the European Opera Centre inLiverpool, Greece and Cyprus ; Irma in Peter Eötvös's "Le Balcon" at the Operas of Besançon and of Dijon ; Miss Baggott (Let's Make an Opera by Britten) at the Besançon Opera.

Seasons 2001/02 in St-Petersburg, Elena Gabouri sang Conception (L'heure espagnole by Ravel) and, in France, Carmen with the Evreux Orchestra, conducted by Bernard Calmel.

Seasons 1997/98/99: as a member of the troupe of the Comic Opera of St-Petersburg, she sang the titles roles of "Czadas Princess" and "Countess Mariza" in Kalman's operettas plus many secondary roles.

Elena Gabouri worked with conductors like Alexander Lazarev, Dmitri Jurowski, Friedrich Player, Vasily Petrenko, Laurent Pillot, Jacques Chalmeau, Michel Piquemal, Stéphane Petitjean, Dominique Rouits and with directors like Nicolas Brieger, Charles Roubaud,  Bernard Rozet,  Elena Tzavara, John Fulljames,  Roberto Recchia, Nadine Duffaut.

Elena Gabouri gives regularly recitals: Festival "Volcadiva" in Royat, Vivonne Lyric Festival, Arles Festival Catalan Lyric Festival…

Elena Gabouri recorded the CD of Fleishmann's The Rothshild's Violin.
